John Woody’s video productions have been recognized with 28 national awards including 14 first place awards from the Broadcast Education Association. In addition, he has received national recognition from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Association of America, and the National Intramural/Recreation Sports Association.

Mr. Woody has extensive video production and management credentials. He was manager of program development at The Learning Channel. He has produced nationally recognized television programs for The Learning Channel, Merck & Co., Inc., Crutchfield, Bass Pro Shops, the Commonwealth of Virginia, MillerCoors, ESPN, U.S. Army, Virginia cOuncil of Graduate Schools, and numerous other organizations and companies.

On July 1st, 2010 Mr. Woody will retire as the Bridgeforth Professor of Telecommunications and an Apple Distinguished Educator in the School of Media Arts & Design at James Madison University. An accomplished videographer, editor, and digital compositor, he teaches advanced post-production and video compositing courses.
